ABOUT YOGA 2 HEALTH

Yoga2Health (Y2H) was officially launched by the honorable Minister for Women, Family and Community Development Dato' Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil on Thursday, August 11,2005. In her speech the Minister, a yoga practitioner herself, expounded the virtues of Yoga and congratulated the Centre's efforts towards enhancing the wellness of adults and children.

Whilst in our early days we focussed only on women and children, Y2H has now, due to overwhelming demand, initiated special programmes to include men. Happy to say that today many couples enjoy bonding together via yoga.

As we journey ahead, Y2H remains very much a niche, boutique type studio, emphasizing on small, personal classes. Our team of professional teachers take time to know students better so that the promises of yoga can be achieved more effectively.

What is Yoga?      
Yoga is an ancient science, a philosophy of life that empowers you to manage your life better by helping you understand your inner strength. It is about balance and finding serenity in the midst of chaos and day-to-day frustrations that nag our lives.

Yoga is about improving both physical and mental health by understanding Prana, the energy that is present in all living things.

Yoga deals with universal truths, its teachings are as valid today as they were in ancient times. It aims to bring a harmonious balance into our lives. It allows us to let go of the past and future, and to be in the present moment experiencing our true 'Inner Self'. It starts us on the journey towards a healthy and harmonious life.

How Can We Help You?
In the Foundation Programme, we practice the classical Hatha yoga. Focus is on:

·  Relaxed Postures (Asana)
·  Proper Breathing Exercise (Pranayama)
·  Meditation (Dhyana)
·  Proper Relaxation (Savasana)
·  Proper Dietary Habits

Our classes are kept deliberately small. Your initiation begins with a one-to-one consultation with our instructor. Through personalized, guided sessions by professionals, we help you in your journey to achieve inner calm, harmony and overall wellness.

After the Foundation programme, in Open Class you experience different styles of yoga such as Vinyasa and Iyengar. The course is more demanding and challenging. However, at all times students are reminded that Yoga is not a competitive sport and to listen to their bodies and grow at their own pace.
